A.J. Roller signs with Park

A.J. Roller, a 5-10 guard who helped lead Verdigris to the state semifinals, has signed a letter-of-intent to attend Park University in Parkville, Mo., and play basketball.

Roller averaged 15 points and 4.5 assists as the Cardinals posted a 25-4 record, including the No. 1 ranking in Class 3A late in the season.

Park coach Jason Kline made the announcement for the NAIA school.





Tyler Wilson signs with Ozarks

Claremore’s Tyler Wilson has received a Dean’s Scholarship and a Walton Family Foundation Scholarship to attend University of the Ozarks at Clarksville, Ark., and play tennis.

Wilson was a three-year starter and a three-time singles conference champion for Claremore.

Ozarks head coach Scott Smith made the announcement for the NCAA Division III program.



Crappie Classic coming to Oologah

The Crappie Angler Sportsman Tour will wrap up its season with the Classic Championship on Lake Oologah June 22-24.

The Classic will feature as many as 350 anglers from across the Midwest, with a payout of nearly $40,000.

The full field will compete June 23-24 with the winners determined by the heaviest two-day catch weighed.

Anglers will take off at 6:30 a.m. each day from the Hawthorne Boat Ramp. Weigh-in will take place about 4 p.m. each day at the Will Rogers Stampede Rodeo Arena. Take-offs and weigh-ins are open to the public.
