It might have felt like a sauna Thursday night at Legion Field, but it was no sweat for the Rogers County Rangers.

They worked up a little bit of a breeze to whip Okmulgee, 10-2, in an American Legion baseball game.

Curt Simpson turned up the heat on Okmulgee, blasting a pair of two-run homers.

Matt Sparks also had a hot bat, driving in three runs.

Aaron Conger started for the Rangers, and pitched three innings, scattering six hits and giving up two runs.

He was relieved by Kyle Stafford in the fourth and Matt York in the seventh.

The Rangers, improving to 19-6, scored in five of the eight innings.

Although they were out-hit, 12-10, the Rangers made the most of them. Okmulgee contributed seven errors.

The Rangers, who had not played since Saturday, return to Legion Field for a 7 p.m. game Friday against Salina.
