Dalton Northcutt

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State head men's golf coach Steve Brown announced the signing of Dalton Northcutt to help the Heartland Conference champion Hillcat men's golf program for the 2018-19 season.

"Dalton hasn't been playing golf as long as a lot of other players, but in a short time he has built an impressive resume and we're very excited he has decided to come play at RSU," Brown said. "With Dalton, Edwin Blomander and Logan Meehan joining the program this fall, we have three very hardworking young men joining a team that is already very talented. The future looks pretty good for RSU men's golf."

Northcutt comes to College Hill from Hallsville High School in Longview, Texas where he was a four-year letterwinner in his first four years ever playing golf.

As a junior, the Bobcats were districts champions for the first time in school history and made the regional tournament for the first time as a 5A school. Northcutt was named the team most valuable player and shot a season-best 3-under-par 67. In his senior season, he was named Academic All-State and was the team captain.

Northcutt played in the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach and placed 12th out of 82 teams. During his sophomore season at HHS, Northcutt was named the team most valuable player and shot a 66 at Pinecrest Country Club in only his second season playing golf.

His freshman campaign was his first year to ever play golf, and he was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Outside of high school golf, he played events for the North Texas PGA and was the NTPGA Summer Series Points Challenge Winner during his junior season. Northcutt shot a summer-best score of 67. In his career playing NTPGA events, he totaled multiple first place finishes and added a title as the NTPGA Fall Series Point Challenge Winner. Northcutt placed eighth at the Texas Junior Golf Tour Major at Tribute.

Northcutt joins the Hillcats after the navy and red captured the 2018 Heartland Conference Championship and the team's first-ever appearance in regional competition of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships.
