SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Rogers State women's golf team finished in 10th out of 17 teams to open the spring season at the Rattler Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 12-13) at the Dominion Country Club.

Jess Whitting and Alex Massie both improved by three shots to total rounds of 7-over-par 79 in the final round today. The pair each tallied 10-over-par 82s in the first round to finish tied for 37th overall at 17-over-par 161 in the two rounds. Massie was one of the best in the field on par 5s at 1-over-par. Whitting posted 22 pars to rank ninth in the field.

Mariana Flores carded an 11-over-par 83 today in the final round. For the two rounds, Flores registered a total score of 20-over-par 164 after shooting a 9-over-par 81 in yesterday's first round. She placed 45th overall in the event.

Veronica Grey posted a final round score of 12-over-par 84 to go with her 9-over-par 81 from the first round yesterday for a total score of 21-over-par 165.

Mica Eastin finished with a 91 in today's final round. She shot an 86 yesterday for a score of 177.

Dallas Baptist University won the team title with a two-round score of 590 to win by 18 strokes over St. Mary's. The Patriots shot a 296 today after a 294 yesterday. The host Rattlers tallied a score of 608.

Johany Rivera of St. Edward's was the individual champion with a two-round score of even par 144. She fired a 1-under-par 71 today to move up the leaderboard and take the win.

The Hillcats are back in action next week at the St. Edward's Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 19-20) at Onion Creek Country Club in Austin, Texas.
