CATOOSA — It was a matter of holding on for the Catoosa girls Tuesday night.
The Lady Indians used a solid second quarter to take a lead, which sparked the team to hold off Okmulgee for a 53-51 win.
Catoosa outscored Okmulgee 16-10 in the second quarter and held a slim two-point lead entering the fourth quarter.
Both teams scored 14 in the fourth.
Cheyenne Sanders led both teams with 18 points. Mercedes Baker added 14 for Catoosa, while Brittan Garrett scored 11.
The Catoosa boys also won, 61-42.
Mannford boys 82, Chelsea 32 — Will Haley scored 10 points to lead Chelsea on a rough night at the Nowata Tournament.
Mannford led just 19-13 in the first quarter, but then the wheels fell off the Dragon wagon. Mannford outscored Chelsea 56-13 in the second and third quarters to build a 49-point lead.
Tanner Robertson scored 8 for Chelsea, while Ryan Theall had 6.
