INDIANAPOLIS – Rogers State men's cross country earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championship announced on Monday (Nov. 6) by the NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Committee. RSU will make its first-ever team appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championships in only its second season eligible for postseason competition.
The Hillcats were one of four at-large selections from the South Central Region after the navy and red finished seventh at Saturday's South Central Regional in Canyon, Texas. The top three teams automatically qualified from the regional race with the next four earning at-large picks, taking half of the eight available at-large spots.
Thirty-two teams were selected to participate in the championship. A total of 24 teams qualified from being top three in one of the eight NCAA Division Regionals. The final eight spots went to the at-large selections announced today.
The NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championship will be held Nov. 18 in Evansville, Indiana at Nagel Mounds. The University of Southern Indiana and the Evansville Sport Corporation will serve as the co-hosts of the championships. The men's race starts at 11:30 a.m. central time.
