Jack Vincent was the star on the boys side. He earned three state medals, including a gold medal in the 800 meters.

His 800 meter victory was the ultimate revenge against Joshua Dick of Tahlequah, who edged out Vincent in the same race at the Metro Lakes meet. At state, Vincent won by 0.22 of a second.

Vincent was busy at the state meet. He also finished third in the 3200 meters with a time of 10:21.13 and was sixth in the 1600 meters in 4:32.13.

Anna Perry finished fifth in the 200 meters, crossing the line in 26.90. The 3200-meter relay team of Gloria Butts, Sarah Willhoite, Nichols and Alexander finished fifth in 10:23.52. The 1600-meter relay team of Riley Denler, Perry, Nichols and Alexander was sixth.

Reid Willhoite tied for fourth in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet, six inches.

There were some disappointments, however. Sydney Callender tripped on the third obstacle in the girls 300-meter hurdles final and finished eighth. Ethan Shires was disqualified in the 100-meter hurdles race due to a hurdle violation, and Dylan Kedzior did not finish his preliminary 400-meter race.

Others just missing a state medal — the girls 400-meter relay missed qualifying for the finals by 0.24 of a second; the girls 800-meter relay team finished one second out of sixth place; Jazymne Hoke was two inches short of a sixth-place finish for a high jump medal; Kacey Holt finished three inches short of sixth place in the discus; Andrew Vanaman finished two positions out of a sixth place medal in the 3200 meters; and Quentin Skinner tied for fifth place in the high jump, but fell to seventh on misses. He cleared the bar at six feet.
