The Claremore Zebras baseball team will hold a special night for all public service workers and current/former Military soldiers on Tuesday night at Legendary Legion Field.
Claremore will battle the Grove Ridgerunners at 6 p.m. in a showdown between two unbeaten Metro Lakes Conference opponents.
“We will recognize all special servants and members of the Military between our junior varsity and varsity games at 6 p.m.,” Claremore head baseball coach Brent Payne said.
All public servants will be admitted into the game free of charge.
“Anyone that is a public servant or in the Military can wear their uniform to the game. It’s not mandatory, but we are giving them the option,” Payne added.
“As the Zebras coach, I am asking the players to bring someone in their family or a friend of the family that was or is a public servant/Military to the game to be honored.”
The Rogers County Blue Star Mothers are encouraging fans to bring the following items to the game in support of the troops overseas: beef jerky, tuna (foil package), chicken (foil package), soup (single serve pop top), canned fruit (pop top lid), hot chocolate, any non-perishable meals, Ramen noodles (single serve), Easy Mac, Cereal (single serve), Peanut Butter, Popcorn, Trail Mix, Chips (pringles), Gatorade packets (single serve), Candy, Gum, Cough Drops, Socks, Bug Repellant (non aerosol), hand warmers, Foot Powder, Coop Paks, Sun Glasses (shatter proof), Lip Balm, Baby Wipes, Sunscreen, Hand Sanitizers, Deoderant, Tooth Brushes, Playing Cards, Small Flashlights and DVD Movies.
