Foyil thumps Fairland

FOYIL — Since taking over the Foyil Panthers basketball program, first-year head coach Jeff Hefner has raised the bar with an up-tempo offensive strategy.

On Tuesday night, Hefner’s fast-paced offense helped the Panthers whip Fairland, 52-23 on Senior Night.

With the win, the Panthers improved to 14-6 overall and 4-2 at home.

After clinging to a 7-4 lead in the first quarter, the Panthers tallied 30 points over the next the second and third quarters to extend their margin to 37-20.

Dakota Ritchie led the Panthers with a game-high 14 points, while Dakota Chaisson had 12 and Cole Noland had 10.

Foyil outscored Fairland, 29-10 in the final 16 minutes.

The Foyil Lady Panthers also dominated Fairland and came away with a 41-18 win.

The Lady Panthers scoring, however, was not available.

With the win, the Lady Panthers improved to 4-16 overall.
