EDMOND — Central Oklahoma interim softball head coach Cody White has announced the addition of Jon Hunter and Keely Bobeck to the staff for 2013-14.

"I'm excited about having Jon and Keely join our program and know they will have a big impact on our team," said White, who was UCO's assistant coach last spring when the Bronchos went a record-setting 51-11 and won the NCAA Division II national championship.  "They both bring a lot of knowledge and have great passion for the sport."

Hunter came to the Bronchos from Edmond North High School, where he served as an assistant coach for both baseball and softball.  He was an assistant basketball coach for the Huskies from 1999-04, helped with baseball from 2004-13 and was a softball assistant from 2008-13.

Hunter helped lead the ENHS baseball squad to the 2012 Class 6A state championship and he was the interim head coach in the fall of 2012 when the Huskies captured the Class 6A state title.

A prep standout at Clinton High School, Hunter played collegiately at St. Gregory's before graduating from UCO.  He and his wife, Traci, have two daughters (Abby and Halle).

Bobeck is a product of Drippings Springs (Texas) High School who went on to pitch two years at Navarro College and two years at Texas Tech.  She had a 1.19 career earned run average at Navarro and threw four shutouts her first season with the Red Raiders.

Bobeck was a pitching instructor for six years after graduating Texas Tech and came to UCO last year when her husband, Nick, took over as head football coach for the Bronchos.  They have one son (Tucker).
