TULSA — The traditionally-rich Cascia Hall Commandos kept their perfect season alive Friday night with a 35-17 win over Catoosa in the first round of the Class 4A state playoffs.

Top-ranked Cascia Hall advanced to the second round and will host Clinton (9-2) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night in Tulsa.

Catoosa got things rolling early with Cory Barnett’s 47-yard field goal that put the Indians ahead 3-0 in the first quarter.

From there on, though, it was the powerful Cascia Hall offense that erupted for four straight touchdowns — including a 21-point second quarter — that carried the Commandos into halftime with a 28-3. Running back Abram McQuarters tallied all three touchdowns in the second quarter to boost Cascia Hall.

After Barnett’s successful field goal conversion, Cascia Hall got a 16-yard touchdown run by fullback Broc Smith to put the Commandos ahead 7-3 going into the second quarter.

McQuarters took over from there, scampering 8 and 15 yards for a pair of touchdown runs that extended Cascia Hall’s lead to 21-3.

Right before halftime, McQuarters caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Tate Swarb that put Cascia Hall in command at 28-3.

A scoreless third quarter kept hope alive for Catoosa.

The Indians cut the deficit to 28-10 on Darren Fowler’s 13-yard touchdown run.

But, Cascia Hall answered on the ensuing series with Camden Cecchini rumbling in on the 1-yard touchdown run that made it 35-10.

Catoosa, however, didn’t go down without a fight, as quarterback Austin Potter fired a 27-yard touchdown pass to Tre Harvey.

Catoosa finished 5-6 on the year.
