Roland stuns Lincoln Christian, 27-26

ROLAND — The Lincoln Christian Bulldogs let a 26-13 lead in the fourth quarter get away from them in the opening round of the Class 3A state playoffs Friday night in Roland.

A pair of touchdowns in the final quarter, lifted Roland to a 27-26 stunning victory over Lincoln Christian. The playoff win was the first for Roland since 1978.

Justin Flewellen put Lincoln Christian ahead 14-0 in the first half on touchdown runs of 2 and 3 yards.

Roland rallied with a pair of scores and trailed 14-13 at halftime.  Roland quarterback Brooks Robertson tossed a pair touchdown passes — 9 and 63 yards — in the fourth quarter to pull off the upset.
