Explosive Claremore rocks Tulsa Hale

Teter, Caldwell combine for 5 goals

CLAREMORE — Claremore’s Katelin Teter and Cailin Caldwell combined for five goals and Taylor Williams added a pair to lead the Class 5A No. 2-ranked Lady Zebras past Tulsa Hale, 10-0 Friday evening in Metro Lakes Conference action.

The Lady Zebras came out on a mission and carried an 8-0 lead into halftime.

Williams got the Lady Zebras’ scoring going early in the first half, converting a unassisted corner kick into the back left portion of the net for the 1-0 lead. Moments later, Teter tallied her first of three goals in the opening half to extend the Lady Zebras’ lead to 4-0.

Bailey Steckline punched in a goal and Caldwell ripped a shot past the Tulsa Hale goalkeeper to make it 6-0.

Chandler Payne and Williams tacked on two more right before halftime as Claremore cruised into the break up 8-0.

Caldwell and Bailey Minor scored both of Claremore’s goals in the second half to finish off the 10-0 victory.

In the boys’ game, Claremore shutout Tulsa Hale, 3-0.

Bear Hope gave the Zebras a 1-0 advantage in the first half, while Jose Ibanez and Gage Meisinger capped off the second half scoring to seal the win.

    Meranda Golbek and Sarah Szcinski, a pair of 2014 Claremore High School graduates, earned All-State honors for their athletic training careers and will join two other student trainers from Jenks and Stillwater High School on the East squad.
