TAHLEQUAH — A warrant has been issued in Cherokee County for a former football standout at Sequoyah.
Christian Littlehead, currently on the roster at Oklahoma State University, has been charged in Cherokee County with misdemeanor assault and battery stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred during the early-morning hours of March 3.
Officials at OSU declined comment.
According to a report filed by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Littlehead punched Sara Watts in the face during a birthday party. Watts told deputies she and Littlehead were playing beer pong when they got into a verbal argument, during which Littlehead hit her once in the face after she accused him of cheating.
Watts also said she fell after she was punched, scraping her knees and cutting her hand. That’s when others stepped in to separate Watts and Littlehead, who then left the party.
Littlehead was arrested in May for public intoxication at the Pines Apartment Complex. The Broken Arrow native was also suspended for OSU’s game in the Fiesta Bowl after being charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Littlehead pleaded guilty to the drug charge and was sentenced to 15 hours of community service. The current charge for assault and battery is punishable by imprisonment up to 90 days, a fine up to $1,000, or both.
