Chelsea battles Inola tonight

CHELSEA — The ‘Brian Tinker’ Era and the Inola Longhorns kick off their season at 7 p.m. tonight at Chelsea.

Tinker takes over the Inola football program after former coach Lynn Cutshaw announced his resignation in the spring.

This year, the Longhorns are going to be led by first-year starting quarterback Zack Proctor, who was the back-up in 2011.

The 6-foot-1, 160-pound senior signal-caller inherits an offense that is fueled by 5-foot-10, 180-pound senior running back Mason Stookey and 5-foot-6, 225-pound senior fullback Josh Barrett.

Through the air, Proctor will have the luxury of deep threat Colton Morel (5-9, 170) at his disposal, as well as 6-foot-2, 225-pound tight end Chase Phillips.

Inola, however, faces a Chelsea team that finished 8-3 in 2011 under head coach Wade Wolf.

The Green Dragons are led by 5-foot-11, 190-pound senior quarterback Chase McIntire and 5-foot-8, 165-pound senior running back Kennedy Lockhart.

Wolf also expects to see solid competition from his experienced defense, which is led by senior defensive back Brent Hunt (5-9, 160) and senior nose guard Eric Young Wolfe (5-8, 230).
