RSU women's golf ranked 21st in NAIA


CLAREMORE — Rogers State remained ranked-No. 21 in the third NAIA Women’s Golf Top 25 Poll of the regular season released Friday by the national office.

The Hillcat women are coming off a second place finish at the Oklahoma Baptist University Spring Invitational in which the Cats finished 14 strokes ahead of the Bison as RSU shot a 651 team total. OBU with the third place finish this week moved into the poll at No. 25 in the rankings. Bellevue (Neb.) moved up two spots after claiming the team title with a 624 card helping the Bruins move to No. 18 in this week’s poll.

SCAD Savannah held down the top spot in the poll receiving 10 first place votes while the Oklahoma City Stars moved up two spots to No. 2 with four first place votes. Cal State San Marcos held steady at No. 3 while William Woods (Mo.) and Lubbock Christian tied for the No. 4 ranking in this edition of the poll.

The Sooner Athletic Conference led all conferences with five teams in the Top 25 as Wayland Baptist remained at No. 11.

Rogers State will return to action on April 22-23 for the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament hosted at Dornick Hills Golf & Country Club in Ardmore, Okla.
