FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — In a continuation of its week-long road trip, the University of Arkansas softball team next travels to Oxford, Miss., for the start of a weekend series with Southeastern Conference foe Ole Miss.

The three-game series begins Friday with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT) at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The Razorbacks enter their second weekend of SEC play with a 21-8 overall record and a 1-2 mark in league play.

Arkansas and Ole Miss (17-13, 1-5 SEC) have played 50 previous times with the Razorbacks holding a 30-20 advantage in series history. The Razorbacks have won 14 of the 25 games played in Oxford. Arkansas last played in Oxford during the 2011 season, splitting a midweek doubleheader in which then-freshman Jennifer Rambo hit a home run and had four RBI. Chloe Oprzedek, also a freshman in 2011, had three hits in the two-game set.

Sunday’s game of the weekend series—scheduled for a 3 p.m. start—will be televised by Fox Sports with Dave Baker and Cheri Kempf handling the play-by-play and color commentary duties, respectively. The broadcast will be the first of eight scheduled television appearances this season for the Razorbacks. Streams of games one and two will be available through subscription to the Ole Miss website.

Arkansas enters the weekend on the heels of Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Memphis in Sherwood, Ark. Kasey Fagan pitched a complete-game shutout against the Tigers while Devon Wallace hit her team-leading seventh home run late in the contest to give the Razorbacks their final margin of victory. With the victory, Arkansas improved to 9-1 in games played in Sherwood. The game marked the start of a stretch with six games in seven days.

Clarisa Navarro continues to lead the team with a .408 batting average and is tied with Fagan with a team-best 27 RBI. Fagan also leads the team with 31 runs scored while Stephanie Canfield is the team leader with 32 hits, one of seven players with at least 20 hits in the lineup. In addition to her home run total, Wallace leads the team and the SEC with 32 walks. In the circle, Fagan is 4-1 and holding opposing hitters to a .185 batting average.
