TAHLEQUAH — Lane Cobb came on in relief of Glad in the fifth inning and the first three Bulldog hitters connected for base hits scoring one run. A walk, a passed ball and a costly error by shortstop Austin Riley open the way for five more Jay runs.
Bulldogs’ hurler Tyler Hallet gave up just four hits to Tahlequah to record the victory as the Tigers got just one runner as far as second base.
“I was pretty proud of the way we played this weekend,” said Jay coach Mike Moore. “We lost to Westville on Monday and I think that was kind of a wake-up call for us. We were much more focused in the games this weekend.”
Tahlequah’s next action will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Claremore.
