SHAWNEE — Former Oklahoma tight end Austin Haywood has enrolled in classes and plans to play football at Oklahoma Baptist.
Haywood caught six passes for 42 yards last season as a sophomore with the Sooners and appeared to be headed for more playing time because the team was losing two seniors after last season. Instead, he transferred to Central Arkansas but did not play there before switching schools again.
Haywood played at Southmoore High School under Oklahoma Baptist coach Chris Jensen.
The Bison will field a football team in 2013 after not competing in the sport since 1940.
