FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Stone, who pitched for Weatherford Junior College the last two seasons, posted a 7-6 record with one save and a 3.62 ERA in his sophomore season. As a freshman, Stone earned second-team all-conference honors after compiling a 5-2 record with one save and a 1.83 ERA.
Benintendi, who played his high school baseball at Madeira High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, was named the 2013 national high school player of the year by the American Baseball Coaches Association. The 2013 Gatorade Ohio Baseball Player of the Year, Benintendi finished his senior season with a .564 batting average, 12 home runs, 57 RBI, 63 runs scored and 38 stolen bases. He finished his high school career with 213 hits, which ranks as the second most career hits in state history.
