FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas scored single runs in each of the first three innings. Ficociello brought home the first run of the game with a one-out RBI single in the first inning. In the second, McAfee tripled with one out and came in to score on a wild pitch. A sacrifice fly by Spoon in the third inning scored Anderson to put the Razorbacks in front 3-0.
The Razorbacks tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth on a two-out, two-run homer to straightaway center field by Anderson, his fourth of the season.
Arkansas plated another run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly to center by Farris. Two more Razorbacks crossed the plate in the sixth as Anderson had a RBI triple to right-center and Ficociello hit a sacrifice fly to the wall in left field.
The Razorbacks stretched the lead to 9-0 in the seventh on a sacrifice fly to center field by McAfee.
Tennessee broke up the shutout with a run in the top of the eighth as Vincent Jackson doubled to the gap in left-center field, scoring Jeff Moberg.
Arkansas closed the scoring with two runs in the eighth, both coming on a bases loaded infield single by Farris. The first run scored on the single, while the second run came in after a throwing error by the Tennessee third baseman.
Tennessee finished the game with seven hits, led by Scott Price and Christin Stewart, who each contributed two hits. Jackson went 1-for-4 with a RBI for the Volunteers.
