Outdoor Sporting Expo returns to Claremore

Special to the Progress

CLAREMORE —

Claremore Main Street, Claremore Chamber of Commerce, and Claremore Expo Center reunite to bring outdoor enthusiasts of all ages the second annual Outdoor Sporting Expo.
The event begins Friday, Feb. 28 and continues through Sunday, March 2 at the Expo.
After a successful first year, Outdoor Sporting Expo will return with even more excitement including seminars, shopping, bass tub demonstrations, archery competitions, celebrity appearances, and more.
A variety of booths featuring hunting, fishing, travel, and more will pack the Expo Hall and Indoor Arena, giving the biggest outdoor fans a chance to explore things that will make their adventures even better.
One of the biggest draws to Outdoor Sporting Expo is the celebrity lineup, with Animal Planet’s Jimmy Riffle leading the appearances. Star of the popular reality show Gator Boys, Riffle is returning for a second year to greet fans, and this year he’s bringing alligators for an exciting alligator wrestling show.
When Riffle’s not rescuing alligators, he’s busy co-owning Jimmy Riffle’s Old Florida Bar-B-Q, a restaurant located in Davie, Fla.
Outdoor Channel’s Roger Raglin is making an appearance for the first time ever at a show in Oklahoma, which is something that hunting fans are sure to appreciate. Dubbed as “America’s Favorite Whitetail Deer Hunter,” Raglin is famous for his countless hunting videos, starring role on Roger Raglin Outdoors, worldwide travels, and collection of whitetails that is lovingly referred to as “The Wall.”
Rounding out the celebrity appearances is B.A.S.S. Elite professional angler Tommy Biffle.
Oklahoma native Biffle has competed in the pro-circuit and B.A.S.S. series for over 26 years. He is a member of the B.A.S.S. Millionaires and has his own signature bait called “The Biffle Bug.”
Biffle owns Lakeside Polaris in Wagoner.
Seminars featuring the “best of the best” will take visitors on informative adventures right here in Claremore.
TJ Fleetwood, State Duck Calling Champion, will show fans the talent that made him famous. Celebrities Biffle and Raglin will also show off their expertise during their scheduled seminars. Dog Creek Outfitters will perform cooking demonstrations along with serving food. Other speakers include Green Country Fly Fishers, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division Water Safety, and Chase Devereaux, Co-Owner of Bass Fishing in Mexico.
New to this year’s Outdoor Sporting Expo is an adult archery competition coordinated by Bowhunting Council of Oklahoma. For an entry fee of $5, adults 18 and over can spend Saturday afternoon competing for a chance to win sponsored prizes.
Families are also welcome at the Outdoor Sporting Expo. Kids can experience archery fun of their own with the hands-on Right On Target program, a catch-and-release fishing pond, and the first 100 children to visit the show each day will receive a free tackle pack, courtesy of LCA Rising Stars.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors 65 and older, and $5 for youth. Children 10 years and younger get into the show for free. Families or groups can attend at a special price on Sunday as part of the Half-Price Family Day promotion. Show hours are noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Outdoor Sporting Expo is sponsored by TTCU The Credit Union, Grand River Dam Authority, Tulsa RV Sales & Services, Visit Claremore, Suburban Chevrolet, and Nabatak Outdoors.
