Tony Allen to host Basketball Skills Academy in Stillwater

STILLWATER — Former Cowboy and current Memphis Grizzly Tony Allen will be hosting the Grit & Grind Basketball Skills Academy, July 29-31, inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater. It is one of three camps the NBA player will be hosting this summer.

Allen, a member of Oklahoma State's Final Four team in 2004, just completed his ninth season in the NBA, including his third with the Grizzlies. He is a two-time member of the NBA's All-Defense first team and won a World Championship in 2008 with the Boston Celtics.

Allen (545 career NBA games) ranks third among former Cowboys in career NBA games played, trailing only John Starks (866) and Desmond Mason (643). He is one of two former Pokes to win an NBA championship ring, as Terrel Harris won a championship title in 2012 with the Miami Heat.

The camp in Stillwater is for children ages 9-17 and the registration fee is being waived. He will also host camps in Memphis (July 24-26) and his hometown of Chicago (August 1-3).
