Tulsa women's soccer hosts SMU in regular season finale


TULSA — The Tulsa women's soccer team will conclude regular season action tonight against SMU beginning at 7 p.m. at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, while all youth (under 8th grade) wearing a soccer jersey get in free.

Both teams are on a five-game unbeaten streak, while TU sits in fifth place and SMU is in seventh place in Conference USA.

After the contest, Tulsa will honor its seven seniors: Stephanie Aitken, Katie Bykowski, Rachel Garcia, Rebecca Handley, Claire Hulcer, Lexis Learmonth and Shelby Steele.

TU has a 10-5-3 overall record, including a 5-3-2 mark in Conference USA, and a 7-2-1 record at home. The Golden Hurricane is led by Camille Pelly with five goals and four assists for 14 points, while Handley has six goals and an assist, and Claire Nicholson has five goals and three assists both for 13 points. Bykowski and Hayley Harryman have combined for 87 saves and eight shutouts this season.

The Mustangs enter the game with an 8-6-4 record and a 4-2-4 mark in the league. Kenzie Scovill has a team-high nine goals and two assists for 20 points, while Shelby Redman also has 20 points off of seven goals and six assists. Lauryn Bodden has logged over 1300 minutes in goal, picked up 49 saves and has four shutouts on the year.


The Mustangs have a 23-3-2 lead in the all-time series with Tulsa.
