The Lincoln Christian Bulldogs wasted very little time Friday night in blowing out Locust Grove, 55-21.
Using a strong running attack led by Justin Flewellen and an efficient passing game sparked by quarterback Austin Grauer, the Bulldogs exploded for a 48-12 halftime lead.
Locust Grove took the early 6-0 lead in the first quarter on Witt’s 12-yard touchdown pass to Pirtle.
That would be as close as Locust Grove would get, as Lincoln Christian rolled off 20 unanswered points.
Flewellen’s 44-yard touchdown run in the first quarter knotted the game at 6-6. Moments later, Anthony Wilkerson’s 38-yard touchdown run put Lincoln Christian ahead for good at 13-6.
Flewellen tacked on another 38-yard touchdown run and Wilkerson added a 39-yard scoring run as Lincoln Christian led 20-6 after the first quarter.
Grauer’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Wilkerson increased Lincoln Christian’s lead to 28-6 in the second quarter.
Locust Grove got its last touchdown of the first half on Fine’s 6-yard scoring pass from Witt to cut Lincoln Christian’s lead to 28-12.
Lincoln Christian, however, coasted to 21 unanswered points on a pair of touchdown runs by Flewellen of 3 and 43 yards. Grauer also tossed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Davidson right before halftime to put Lincoln Christian ahead, 48-12 at halftime.
