TULSA — Rogers State fell behind early and couldn’t match the play of NCAA Division I opponent Oral Roberts Wednesday evening at the Case Soccer Complex as the Hillcat women’s soccer team suffered an 8-0 loss.
ORU struck in the opening two minutes as Megan Giles dribbled in and slotted the ball into the right corner from 10 yards out for the first of five goals in the opening half. The second half saw the Golden Eagles net three goals as ORU totaled 36 shots in the affair.
RSU totaled 12 saves on the night led by senior keeper Jordan Harris with seven. The eight goal deficit is the largest in the program’s short seven year history and marks the first 0-2 start for the women’s program.
Rogers State (0-2) will face Ouachita Baptist on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. in Arkadelphia, Ark.
