ARDMORE — Claremore senior Alyssa Brown placed eighth Thursday in the Class 5A State Golf Tournament held at Dornick Hills in Ardmore.

Brown helped lead the Lady Zebras to a ninth-place overall finish with a 169 two-round score.

Brown shot an 82 on Day 1, and then responded with an 87 for her strong finish.

“I absolutely don't have enough good to say about  Alyssa Brown.  She excells not only on the course but in the classroom as well.  Her career low is a 75 (Patricia Island, Grove Tournament). She is a Valevictorian, and she holds a steady job.  Alyssa is simply all-around in my books.  She is a young lady who strives for excellence in all areas of life,” Lady Zebra head coach Randa Fay said.

Claremore scores: Paige Hrdlicka (103-96); Hayley Grubb (106-131); McKenzie Farstead (120-110).
