CLAREMORE — A familiar face to many fastpitch softball enthusiasts in Rogers County is back in the dugout.

Amy Mills, who grew up swinging for the fences in her Claremore Sequoyah Lady Eagles uniform, has switched allegiances and joined the Claremore Lady Zebra softball coaching staff. Mills was hired to fill the coaching vacancy and replace former Lady Zebra assistant coach Dustin Hughes.

Hughes resigned from his coaching duties in Claremore earlier this summer to return to his alma mater at Jenks High School.

Following her stint at Claremore Sequoyah High School and two years at Northeastern State, Mills competed on the NCAA Division I level for Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.
