CLAREMORE — The success of the Allen Community College Red Devils this season has been aided by former Claremore Zebra shooting guard Alex Miller.

The 6-foot-1 sophomore guard was one of five players to score in double figures during the Red Devils’ 80-76 win over Fort Scott (Kan.) last week.

Miller, who graduated from Claremore High School in 2010, converted 5-of-9 field goals, 3-of-6 three pointers and pulled down two defensive rebounds against Fort Scott.

On the season, the Red Devils are 7-4 overall and Miller has scored in double figures in six of the nine games that he’s appeared in this season.

Miller’s top performance came in Allen’s 123-84 win over the Tabor JV.

In that game, Miller tallied a game-high 23 points, making 8-of-13 field goals and 7-of-10 three-pointers.

In Allen’s 100-63 win over Hesston, Miller scored 18 points on 5-of-9 field goals, 3-of-7 three pointers and 5-of-8 free throws.

So far this season, Miller has tallied 110 total points while converting 33-of-89 field goals, 23-of-64 treys and 21-of-29 free throws.

Miller and the Allen CC Red Devils return to action on Monday against Ottawa JV at Iola, Kan.
