OWU CLASSIC: Lady 'Cats silence Bethany College

BARTLESVILLE — The Rogers State women’s basketball team rounded out the Oklahoma Wesleyan Classic with a 75-46 win over Bethany College (Kan.) on Saturday afternoon.

The Hillcats led from start to finish, opening the game with a 19-1 run over the first seven minutes of play. RSU led by as many as 32 points in the second stanza with 11 players contributing in the scoring column. The Hillcats took care of the basketball; committing just nine turnovers while the Swedes tallied 19 turnovers. RSU nabbed 12 steals and edged BC on the boards, 37-36.

Junior Clarissa Cannon led RSU with 14 points and nine rebounds which is a season-high in both categories for the Las Vegas, Nev. native. Cornwell tallied 13 points and Kelby Fritz added 11 points to round out RSU’s double digit scorers.
