MANNFORD — The Inola High School basketball teams closed out the 2012 portion of their season with a split decision Thursday night in Mannford.

In the boys’ game, Mannford held Inola’s explosive offense below their average and came away with a 55-35 victory.

Rutherford and the Lady Longhorns got off to a hot start and never looked back. Inola built a 10-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and increased the margin to 27-7 at halftime.

Lauren McDaniel joined Rutherford in scoring with 6 points, while Courtney Williamson and Sam Riddle added 5 each. Kylie Rue and Kaylee Peterson also finished with 4 apiece.

Then, in the nightcap, Taylor Mootry powered Inola’s offense with 10 points, while Travis Hall added 9.

Mannford led the Longhorns, 34-17 at halftime.
