DEWEY — The Inola Longhorns continued their quest toward a berth in the Class 3A state playoffs with a 65-58 win over Dewey Friday night in Will Rogers Conference play.

Inola jumped out to a 20-7 first quarter lead and then tallied 10 points in the second quarter to extend the halftime margin to 30-18.

Travis Hall keyed Inola’s offense with a team-high 12 points. Casey Gill and Taylor Mootry also contributed with 9 points each.

Both teams would pick up the tempo in the third quarter, scoring 16 points each. The Longhorns led 46-34 heading into the final eight minutes of play.

In the fourth quarter, Sanders and Carson LaRue helped Dewey rally, but the 24 points in the quarter for the Bulldoggers wouldn’t be enough.

Sanders led Dewey with 16 points and LaRue finished with 15.
