Hit-and-run driver sought

FOYIL — Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers are seeking the person or persons involved in a hit-an-run near the Foyil area.

According to OHP Trooper Lt. Jack Choate, Robert Williamson of Claremore was struck Wednesday, Aug. 31, shortly before 4 p.m. when he was driving his 1994 Chevy Corvette westbound on EW40 in Rogers County.

A second vehicle, described as a mid-90’s model “dirty green” Pontiac was eastbound on the same road when, for unknown reasons, they swerved into Williamson’s lane, striking his vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Although his vehicle was severely damaged, Williamson himself was “shaken up, but uninjured,” Lt. Choate said.

Persons with any information regarding the identity of the driver of the “dirty green Pontiac” — probably a Grand Am or Grand Prix, Lt. Choate said — are encouraged to call the OHP at (918) 627-0440.
