Residents advised to beware of home repair fraud

CLAREMORE —

The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office is advising county residents to be aware of possible home repair fraud after one Oologah man reported an incident on June 17.
The victim contacted investigators after “purchasing” a 32X50X10 building from All Seasons Plus.
The man said the company was based in Cleveland, Oklahoma and he was given a business card listing Ed Meyer
After additional research, the Oklahoma Secretary of State website lists no business registered as “All Seasons Plus” or to Meyer.
The victim was asked to pay $4,660 down on the concrete slab for the building and $4,660 after post. Meyer then requested a final payment of $4,660 after excavation and the slab was complete.
The victim provided two checks to the business totally $9,320. The slab was complete; however, Meyer did not return and complete construction.
The victim has not been able to reach Meyer or the company since.
“Never give money ahead of time and check the business work history,” Rogers County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Jerry Smittle.
If fraud is suspected do not hesitate to contact the Sheriff’s Office, he added.
“If the company does not have the money to start the job, don’t bother with them,” Smittle said.
The Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about the potential for fraud and requesting that anyone that may have had contact with Meyer call the Sheriff’s Tipline at (918) 341-3620.
