Blue Star Mothers sell Memorial Day flowers in support of troops

CLAREMORE —

The Rogers County Blue Star Mothers chapter will sell Memorial Day flowers today,  through Sunday to help raise money for troops. Flowers and sprays will be sold from 4-6 p.m.  today, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday on the corner of First and Lynn Riggs, across from the old courthouse.
“We still have troops who are deployed and as mothers we will not forget those serving our country,” said Chapter President Wanda Inman.
Many of the wreaths are handmade by Blue Star Mothers. Prices begin at $4.
The chapter recently held their third annual “Fill the Trucks” fundraiser. Trucks were parked in front of Melton Sales, Suburban Chevrolet and Jack Kissee Ford for community members to donate money or non-perishable food and snack items for troops currently overseas.
“People just aren’t giving like they used to. We want everyone to remember that our sons and daughters are deployed to keep our nation safe,” said Inman. “Let’s not forget to support them.”
For more information, call 918-343-2675 or visit the Rogers County Blue Star Mothers on Facebook.
