Oologah roars past Miami, 42-7

MIAMI —

The Oologah Mustangs continued their quest toward the Class 4A playoffs with a 42-7 win over the Miami Wardogs Friday night in District 4A-3 action.
Oologah built a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Chance Keim got things rolling early with a 4-yard touchdown run that put Oologah up 7-0.
Moments later, quarterback Payton Craig scampered 19 yards for one of his three rushing touchdowns to give Oologah a 14-0 lead.
Keim capped the first quarter scoring with a 3-yard touchdown run to extend the Oologah lead to 21-0.
In the second quarter, Oologah continued to roll behind Keim, as the tailback rumbled 21 yards for his third touchdown that put Oologah ahead 28-0.
Craig’s 3-yard touchdown run sent Oologah into the locker room with a 35-0 lead.
After a scoreless third quarter, Craig’s final touchdown  — a 1-yard run — completed Oologah’s scoring with a 42-0 lead.
Miami’s only touchdown of the night came on Sawyer Pooler’s 1-yard run.
With the win, Oologah improved to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in district.

    The No. 16 Oologah boys beat Tulsa Webster 67-61.  The Lady Mustangs, however, fell 48-44 against the No. 16 Berryhill Maidens.

    Hilldale’s Hillary Calvert did anything she wanted Friday night against Oologah, on her way to a game-high 21 points, five steals and five rebounds, leading the Lady Hornets past the Lady Mustangs 61-27 at the Hilldale Event Center.
