County’s new phone numbers have citizens seeking information on how to make contact

CLAREMORE —

County officials are settling in after the April move into the new Rogers County Courthouse, however,  many citizens remain unaware of the new phone numbers for courthouse offices.
Officials released the new phone numbers in March as the 341 and 342 series numbers were disconnected during the move.
All offices, excluding the Rogers County Sheriff, were cut off and county officials worked diligently with local media to inform the public.
Additionally, the new numbers were published on the county’s website at www.rogerscounty.org for weeks prior to the move.
Despite the efforts, many citizens still don’t know the new numbers and continue to face frustration when dialing the old 341 and 342 series.
The Claremore Daily Progress has received a number of calls relating to the issue and requests for the new numbers.
The new phone numbers came with a new phone system that added a variety of features improving service to citizens and increasing productivity for workers, according to Rogers County Information Technology Director Brett Williston.
One feature of the new system is the ability to port and forward phone numbers. For example, each phone number is specific to an actual phone, if an employee need to be moved from one space to another, only the phone itself need to be moved.
Additionally, phone calls can be transferred to cell phones allowing the public greater access to elected officials.
The main number for the new courthouse will be (918) 923-4400 and will feature an automated system when dialed. Each office will also have unique extension allowing employees to be contacted directly, according to Williston.
