TURNPIKE ACCIDENT: Passenger in critical condition

A collision between two west bound vehicles occurred around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning on the Will Rogers Turnpike near Claremore.
The accident involved a white Chrysler van which had veered into the outside lane striking the trailer of a semi-freightliner, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The vehicle overturned and landed on the driver’s side, striking a concrete barrier before coming to a stop.
The husband of the driver, James Genia, 32, was life-flighted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa after being partially ejected through the back drivers side window.
The driver of the van was identified as 30-year-old Kristina Genia of Oceanside, Calif. Passengers involved were three children that were transported to St. Francis Hospitalfor precautionary reasons, according to OHP.
The Driver of semi-truck was not injured. Traffic was backed up for about an hour because of the accident.
