(Editor’s Note: This information is part of a series highlighting the Rogers County Fair Open Class.)

The 2008 Rogers County Free Fair is Sept. 12-14 with entries, judging, and special shows the week before. This year, entry tags may be picked up at the OSU Extension office (temporarily located at the Rogers County Building) and filled out ahead of time. This is being done in an effort to make entry lines shorter and faster. A table will also be set up on the entry day (Sept. 10 from 2-7 p.m.) for entrants to fill out tags. A volunteer will be available to help with questions.

Holiday Parade

The Holiday Parade category is for items handmade for any holiday throughout the year, not just Christmas. Items that can be entered include: decoration for holiday table, holiday door decoration, holiday wreath, holiday swag, Christmas tree skirt, Christmas stocking, Christmas tree ornaments (age 19 and over), Christmas tree ornaments (age 18 and under), holiday ceramics, holiday doll or animal, small decorated tree (under 2 feet), decorated /wrapped gift box, plastic canvas – Christmas, holiday gourd.

Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st place-$8, 2nd place-$6, 3rd place-$4, 4th place-$3, 5th place-$1.

Clothing

Items that can be entered in the adult sewing division include: one piece dress or dress and jacket, two piece dress or pant outfit child’s dress (infant – 6X), child’s dress (7 – 14), child’s sportswear, shirt or blouse, apron, decorated sweatshirt or shirt, lady’s slacks or shorts, vest, jumper, coat or jacket or poncho, lady’s sportswear, western wear, formal or after five dress, doll clothes, lady’s skirt, costume, man’s shirt, purse or tote bag.

Items in the youth sewing division (kids through age 11) include: apron, shirt or blouse, shorts or pants, decorated clothing, item sewn by child age 6 and under, dress, tote bag or purse, doll clothes.

Items in the junior sewing division (kids 12 through 18) include: jumper, dress, two piece outfit, shirt or blouse, shorts or pants, decorated clothing, doll clothes.

Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st place-$8, 2nd place-$6, 3rd place-$4, 4th place-$3, 5th place-$1.
