Spears, Flowers unite in marriage May 31

Sandy Spears and Jason Flowers recently exchanged vows to become husband and wife. The couple was wed May 31, 2008, at The Gazebo. Rev. Scott McCrary of East Cross United Methodist Church in Bartlesville officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Cliff and Lerene Schornick of Bartlesville. She is the granddaughter of Doris and Burton Keeble of Bartlesville.

Sandy is employed at the Claremore Daily Progress.

The groom is the son of Janice Weeden of Tulsa and Ed Flowers of Lexington. He is the grandson of E.J. and Jewell Flowers of Wilson.

Jason is employed at Taylor Industries in the Port of Catoosa.

The bride’s colors were blue and ivory. She wore a full-length, off-the-shoulder satin dress. It had a country flair with beaded inlay. She carried peach lilies and ivory roses, and wore a headpiece made with small ivory roses and greenery.

Justis Spears, son of the bride, walked his mother down the aisle to give her away.

Krystal Carman, best friend of the bride, stood as matron of honor. Taylor Flowers, daughter of the groom, was bridesmaid. Both wore full-length royal blue satin dresses and handmade headpieces.

Elizabeth Flowers, daughter of the groom, was flower girl. She wore a full-length ivory satin dress with a tiara and ivory ribbons.

Gary Smith, brother of the groom, stood as best man, while Ron Barrett, friend of the bride, served as groomsman. Zane Spears, son of the bride, was ringbearer.

Krystal Carman sang “At Last” by Etta James.

A reception was held at the American Legion.

After honeymooning for four days at Western Hills Resort, the couple will reside in Claremore.
