Carruthers, Bittner unite in Tulsa ceremony



DeeDra Carruthers and Mark S. Bittner exchanged wedding vows to become husband and wife in a ceremony held June 30, 2007, at Metro Faith Christian Church in Tulsa. Pastor Derreck Horne officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Karen Roman of Broken Arrow, and Ruperto Roman of Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Mr. Grady Smith and the late Doshia Smith of Gore.

DeeDra is a graduate of Glenpool High School, and attended TCC. She currently works at Safelite Autoglass.

The groom is the son of Sharon Bittner and the late Robert Bittner of Claremore. He is the grandson of Walter Moore and the late Miriam Moore of Pennsylvania.

Mark is a graduate of Claremore Sequoyah High School. After graduation he joined the USMC. Mark is currently seeking a degree in Criminal Justice, and is employed with the Creek County Sheriff Department.

The bride’s colors were white and apple. She wore a white satin gown with apple colored embroidery and pearl and sequin accents. She carried apple colored roses and white daisies.

Paula Warren was maid of honor, while Riann Hendrickson was bridesmaid. Both attendants wore strapless apple colored dresses.

Sydnie Roman, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Cpl. Chad Rohr, longtime friend of the groom, stood as best man. Sgt. Terry Steel, friend of the groom, was groomsman.

Bryce Bittner, son of the groom, was ring bearer.

Billy Dee Williams, brother-in-law of the groom, and Tim Gilley, friend of the groom, were ushers.

Miriam Williams, sister of the groom, attended the guestbook.

The couple will make their home in Sapulpa.
