Sarah Elizabeth Melton and Eddie Marion Roach, Jr., both of Claremore, became husband and wife in a candlelit ceremony on July 14, 2007, at First Presbyterian Church in Claremore. Rev. Dennis Ritchie officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Lisa Melton of Claremore. She is the granddaughter of J. Ralph and Mary Jo Bridwell of Claremore, and Leon and Saundra Melton of Catoosa.
Sarah is a 2003 Claremore High School graduate, where she was active in choir and band. She is attending UCO-Edmond majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Music Ed. She is a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and First Presbyterian Church.
The groom is the son of Eddie and Debi Roach of Claremore. He is the grandson of Wanda Farris of Claremore, and John and Marjorie Hipp of Verdigris.
He is a 2003 Claremore High School graduate, where he was active in band. He attended RSU, and is now attending OSU-Okmulgee majoring in Turf Management. He will graduate in December of this year.
The church was decorated in ivory, champagne, mocha, and pink pillar candles and pearls in hurricane lamps.
Sarah wore a strapless, pearl gown with cafe trim that laced up the back. It had a scoop neck, empire waist, and A-line skirt with a chapel length train adorned with beads, sequins and rhinestones. She carried pink and off-white roses with pearl accents, arranged by her aunt, Linda Caffey. Her veil was ivory tulle with ivory satin trim.
Lauren Kirkpatrick, lifetime friend of the bride, was Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were: Cara Brooks, friend and sorority sister of the bride; Heather Yost, friend and sorority sister of the bride; and Darcy Roach, sister of the groom.
Melody Webber, niece of the groom, was flower girl.
Travis East, best friend of the groom, stood as Best Man. Taylor Roberts, friend of the groom; Clint Bowers, friend of the groom; and John Melton, brother of the bride were groomsmen. Benjamin Harman, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
Trevor Smith, Scott Hager, and Nathan Smith were ushers.
Darcy Roach sang “The Rose” during the lighting of the unity candle, and Emily Farbro read a poem “The Bargain.”
Leah Kirkpatrick, Lauren Tollison and Katie Caffey attended the guestbook.
After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple reside in Edmond.
