NTC Nursing students receive Hospital Auxiliary scholarships

CLAREMORE —

The Hillcrest Hospital Claremore Auxiliary recently announced two scholarship winners from Northeast Technology Center’s Claremore Campus.
Practical Nursing students Kerri Hickey from Collinsville and Amanda Huckaby from Chelsea each received a $400 scholarship from the Auxiliary.  Students must be enrolled in NTC Claremore’s Practical Nursing program or RSU’s Nursing Program, have at least a 3.0 GPA, fill out an application and have at least two letters of reference to be eligible for the award.
Hospital Auxiliary President Marjie Purkey, Coordinator Sandra Slanker and Member Dawn Beck awarded the scholarships to Hickey and Huckaby.  The Practical Nursing Program is in its fifth year at the Claremore Campus.  It is also the fifth year for the Auxiliary to award scholarships to NTC students.
The Hillcrest Hospital Claremore Auxiliary has given over $150,000 in healthcare scholarships over its 43-year history.  In addition to the scholarship program, the Auxiliary also supports the community by providing volunteer service to the hospital and support to various non-profit organizations and charitable groups.
