Before Hollywood works it over for the upcoming movie adaptation, the Progress Book Club is going to tackle the classic "Little Women" for their July meeting.
It's light, easy to get through in a month, and serves as a picturesque escape from our day-to-day life. It's characters are ones we can connect with and is a storyline we can get swept away in. It's a sweet coming of age story that is perfect for summer reading.
For some of us it's a return to a childhood favorite, for others it will be a first look into Louisa May Alcott's world (before opinions can be swayed by another film adaptation).
Join us for tea, cookies and a discussion of this sweet classic, Thursday, July 25, 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Progress (315 W. Will Rogers)
