Thursday marks the 84th anniversary of the day Will Rogers perished in an Alaska plane crash.

He was originally buried in California, but Mrs. Rogers had his body removed to a specially prepared tomb at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore.

At noon August 15, friends and family will gather at the tomb to place a wreath and witness a memorial fly-over by Tom Egbert, Will Rogers Roper-docent and pilot.
