The deadline is quickly approaching for individuals and families to leave a lasting legacy in Inola’s Fleming Park.
Rural Economic Development of Inola created the Memorial Brick Fundraiser for the ongoing development of Flemming Park in February, 2019.
The fundraiser allows people to leave their mark on the town with an engraved brick, dedicated to memorialize a loved one or honor a close friend. All the bricks will be used in a pathway on a prominent location in the park.
Each brick can include two lines of text, with 15 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation. The cost per brick is $60 each or two for $100.
REDI Board Member Rosalie Griffith said, “It’s a great way for people to remember family members and make a contribution to the park.”
“In honor of somebody, in memory of somebody, it could be anything, we just want to make it nice and honor people,” said REDI Board Member Tommie Grigg. “I purchased for my grandchildren, and we’re also going to list all the former Mayors.”
“It’s a great opportunity to give back,” Grigg said. “We got several large donations to the park, but not everybody can make a large donation. This way you can say you donated and helped build the park.”
The deadline to get your engraved brick orders into Grigg or Inola City Hall is Monday, Aug. 17.
