Fall fun at Will Rogers Library

Fall is the time for gatherings of family and friends, bountiful feasts and sharing a harvest of food, flavors and fun! If cooking for friends and loved ones is your passion, or if you just feel like getting a little festive in the kitchen this year, check out the Will Rogers Library’s full selection of cookbooks! For truly special entertaining, the library offers cookbooks for the beginner, such as “Thanksgiving: How to Cook it Well” as well as new selections for the seasoned chef, plus special cookbook collections for kids. There are also over 250 e-books and 40 print books on baking and desserts alone! Pair a great baking book with the brand new specialty baking pans or cookie cutters for unique treat for your holiday parties, or just for fun. The library is your source for all kinds of edible inspiration this holiday season!

For those interested in non-edible treats, the library has added over 200 new fiction and non-fiction titles in print and e-book formats. The holidays can be hectic, so remember to enjoy a little leisure time, and treat yourself to a good read!

Get in on the fun of Adult Crafts! Wednesday, November 6th from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm learn to make fun Fall Wreaths from some unusual materials! Sign up is requested as supplies are limited. Adults only, please.

Stop by the Adult Coloring Club each Tuesday from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, and enjoy the relaxation and stress-relieving benefits of the adult coloring craze. The library provides the coloring materials, or feel free to bring your own. Adults 18 and over only, please.

The Genealogy Volunteers are available Monday nights from 5:00-7:00 in the Reference area to answer your questions. The Holidays are the perfect time to share family histories! Finding out more about your family tree is easier than you think with Library resources Ancestry.com, Heritage Quest, and the help of friendly volunteers!

Friends of the Library will meet Monday, November 18th from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in the library's Multipurpose room. Hear interesting speakers, learn about how you can help the Library, and make some new Friends!

Fall is a great time to make plans for Spring! Meet the Green Country Beekeepers, a group for new and experienced bee keepers in the Claremore and surrounding areas to share ideas. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. This month's gathering will be Tuesday, November 19th from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in the Multipurpose room. All interested are welcome.

Programs For Kids:

Wednesday Storytimes! From 9:30 am – 10:00 am, Baby Storytime features rhymes and songs for ages 0-3. Then from 10:00 am – 10:30 am, Storytime for little ones ages 3-5 features short stories and more. Parents, bring your little ones and join Tena every Wednesday in the Multipurpose Room.

Fall Lego Club! For children age 10 -14 who love to read and build. The library provides the Legos - you bring your imagination! Lego Club meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the Library Multipurpose Room from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm.

Junior Lego Club! The first Tuesday of each month kids ages 5-9 will build with books as inspiration. Because this is an activity for younger children, adults are required to stay with their child to help as needed. This month’s Club will meet November 5th from 4:00-4:45 pm in the Library Multipurpose Room.

*Please note the Library will be closed Saturday, November 9th and Monday, November 11th for Veteran’s Day. The Library will also be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday, November 28th through Saturday, November 30th.
