The 1 Million Cups of Claremore is gearing up to celebrate their three year anniversary in just a few short days.
1. What is 1 Million Cups?
“Based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee, the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation developed 1 Million Cups,” according to their site. “As a program of the Kauffman Foundation, 1 Million Cups works with entrepreneurs, empowering them with the tools and resources to break down barriers that stand in the way of starting and growing their businesses. Mr. Kauffman believed it was a fundamental right for anyone who had a big idea to be able to bring it to life—and we're here to fulfill that mission.”
2. Who can get involved, and how do they do so?
“1MC is all inclusive. It’s for anyone that owns a business, wants to own a business, or even anyone who wants to be more plugged in to the entrepreneur community,” said Megan Edwards. “We welcome anyone to attend.”
Those interested in participating can find more 1 Million Cups Claremore Facebook page.
3. What’s been the biggest change in the past three years?
“1MC Claremore has been pretty true to mission since day one,” she said. “As a whole, though, 1MC has grown exponentially over the years.”
She said there are now over 180 chapters nationwide, all serving the same purpose: educating and encouraging entrepreneurs.
4. What are people saying about 1MC Claremore?
“Our presenters love that they leave with advice and encouragement from our ‘think tank’ of business people,” she said. “Our attendees all agree that they can both learn and share knowledge and help to build a strong entrepreneurial system in our area.
5. When is the celebration?
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. at SheBrews Coffee House on Will Rogers. Blvd.
