Scouts of Pack 141 all agreed, the visit to the Claremore Animal Shelter is one of their favorite summer outings.

This week the scouts collected and delivered some much-needed supplies to the shelter.

Officer Jean Hurst was on-hand to give the scouts a tour of the facility.

“Scouts learned what it meant to be a responsible animal owner, local laws and how to provide for their pets. Certain types of pets require different types of food and care,” said scout master Terry Hancock.

The scouts learned the process of how pets are adopted from the shelter.

“Parents and Scouts were impressed with how clean the facility was and how much it depends on community donations for day to day operations,” Hancock said. “

This was definitely one of the Scouts favorite tours of our summer program.”
