All County Honor Bands

Several students from Will Rogers Junior High performed in the 2014 All County Band.

The Rogers County All County Band performed Tuesday at the Robson Performing Arts Center.
Junior high and high school students from schools across the county played several concert pieces, after only meeting twice to practice as an ensemble. A few weeks ago, students auditioned at Catoosa Public Schools to participate in the program.
The most accomplished musicians were selected to perform in the band. Students from both Will Rogers Junior High and Claremore High School were selected for this honor.
Guest band directors Dr. Michael Raiber   and JoAnn Johnson served as guest clinicians.
Raiber is a band director from Norman and Johnson teaches middle school band at Glenpool Public Schools. The concert featured works which showcased the student’s talents.
WRJH students Casey Couch and Quincy McSpadden were featured performers with the junior high band. The program is the first of the concert season and  Claremore will host a second honor performance this weekend.
The All District Junior High Honor band will perform at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Robson PAC. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Students from across Northeast Oklahoma will participate in the program. Band directors volunteer their time to teach the students new techniques and expose them to new musical arrangements.
